Curl Up and Get Cosy: Top Tips for Your Perfect Winter Escape
Winter is the ideal time for a cosy escape after the hustle and bustle of spring and summer and the dampness of Autumn, Winter brings more predictable (colder!) weather, fewer visitors and the Christmas spirit that so many people look forward to. It’s a great time to reconnect with friends, family or a loved one, spending some time in a luxury 4-star hotel resort and making memories you’ll treasure. If you’re lucky enough to visit near Christmas, you’ll have the added comfort of our opulent Christmas decorations, something our team take great pride in. Here are our tips for a perfect winter escape in our luxury hotel in Wicklow.
Comfortable Guest Rooms
You’ll spend most of your time hiding from the cold and catching up on sleep in your guest bedroom so choose a hotel with additional comfort so you can make the most of it. At Tulfarris our guest bedrooms will be a highlight of your stay. Our high standards mean you enjoy plush, warm carpets, comfortable white bedding, and all of the TV and internet you need for a cosy night in. Our team of talented chefs specialise in made-to-order dishes, expertly prepared with local ingredients wherever possible. Room Service
For the ultimate luxurious hotel experience, order a meal delivered to your room. If you want to stay cosy a little longer in the morning, you can arrange a full Irish or a healthy continental, breakfast to be delivered to your room between 8.00am and 10.00am. Choose from the menu on the back of your door handle and hang it outside before 3am to order – ideal if you’ve had a couple of drinks and want to embrace the hangover the next morning! Our room service dinner is served between 6.00pm – 9.00pm from the menu in your room and we offer 24-hour sandwich orders. You could also enjoy dinner in our restaurant and order dessert and drinks to your room after, the perfect end to a relaxing day.
An Autumn Walk
With the right footwear and clothing, you can be just as cosy outside as you are inside. Pack a warm jumper, a waterproof jacket and some sensible shoes and enjoy a walk in the beautiful Wicklow countryside. We’re surrounded by the magnificent Blessington Lakes, a great place to explore nature no matter the weather. Start in the picturesque town, where you can grab a bite to eat or a takeaway coffee before heading to the Blessington Greenway Trail. This 90-minute walk will take you along the shore of the lakes, through forest paths. It crosses an ancient medieval Ringfort and uses the footpath along part of the N81 before turning back into the forest at Burgage Moyle Lane. You’ll pass the beautiful Russborough House along the way where you can stop to admire the grounds and enjoy a coffee and a treat before heading home for a hot shower and a peaceful night in Tulfarris.
