Irish Open History
The Irish Open, currently known as the Horizon Irish Open, is the epitome of golf tournaments in Ireland. The competition brings together teams and players from across the world to compete for a grand prize of three million euro. The first Irish Open took place in 1927 in Portmarnock Golf Club and has been played annually (aside from years of war) ever since. 2023 will be just the second time The K Club has hosted the Irish Open, having done so for the first time in 2016, when four-time Major winner Rory McIlroy claimed a famous victory which will live forever in the memory of Irish sports fans. To be eligible for entry into the DDF Irish Open all competitors must be a member of the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland and be employed at a golf establishment in Ireland.
Tickets for Irish Open 2023
The Irish Open is more than just a golf competition. In recent years, it has become a festival! With incredible golf and live music attracting sell-out crowds in 2021 and 2022, 2023 promises to be bigger and better than ever. Tickets are now available for the Horizon Irish Open from 7-10th September, a change in date from what was previously reported. You’ll also enjoy an Elevated Viewing Platform and Bar overlooking the 16th Green. General entry tickets are also available but are limited due to a 40% increase in demand from last year.
